TRAVELLER EDUCATION WORKER
PART-TIME FIXED TERM CONTRACT

children’s education?
* Have you knowledge of and an interest in literacy development?
* Have you a QQI Level 6 award certificate or higher?
Mincéirí Port Láirge is looking to recruit a Traveller Education
worker with a particular focus on literacy support.
ROLE FOCUS WILL INCLUDE:
* Identifying the literacy support needs of local Traveller children
in the school senior cycle
* Identifying effective resources and responses to address any
identified areas of need
* Building strong relationships with Traveller children, Parents and
local education providers and work collaboratively in supporting
Traveller children in achieving educational outcomes.
Successful candidates will deliver an agreed programme of supports to
Traveller children in Waterford City.
LOCATION: Mincéirí Port Láirge offices at 2nd. Floor Déise House,
Railway Square, Waterford. X * FX2K.
HOURS OF WORK: * hrs. per week
SALARY: Salary in line with Development Worker pay scale and will be
available at interview.
GARDA VETTING: The successful candidate will be required to comply
with Garda Vetting procedures.
